What and Where to eat in Rome
...................................................................................
Restaurants in Rome are quite cheap. You can usually have lunch or dinner at less expensive prices than many other European cities.
Most of the typical and cheapest restaurants are concentrated in the areas of Trastevere and Testaccio. On the other hand, if you are looking for a higher category restaurant, the recommended areas are those close to historical centre.
The traditional restaurants in Rome are the trattorie, osterie and pizzeria, quite always home run and where ingredients and food are of own production. Here you can taste the several roman cuisine platters among which the most known are bucatini all’amatriciana (noodle), the abbacchio alla romana (lamb) and the bigné di San Giuseppe (dessert), accompanied by renowned white or red d.o.c. wines, such as the wines from Frascati and Castelli Romani.
