“This is a strategic partnership that fills us with satisfaction, but also a desire to achieve,” commented Paolo Sormani. This is another initiative planned by the three-year agreement between the yellow-red club and the Trigoria Polyclinic, Official Medical Partner of AS Roma for the football seasons 2024-2025, 2025-2026, and 2026-2027. Today, two new areas were inaugurated: a new pathway dedicated to the footballers of AS Roma and the new sports medicine clinic, continuously branded AS Roma, and equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and technology. Present at the event were also Niccolò Pisilli, Mattia Mannini, Elena Linari, and Florent Ghisolfi. Below is the company’s statement:
“These new areas, specifically designed for the needs of the yellow-and-red team, were inaugurated on March 10th in a ceremony that saw the participation of the leaders of the Roma club, the first team player Niccolò Pisilli – who was accompanied by the female footballer Elena Linari and the youth team player Mattia Mannini – and representatives of the Policlinico Universitario Campus Bio-Medico Foundation.” Among others present for the polyclinic were its President, Carlo Tosti, and the CEO and General Manager, Paolo Sormani, while for AS Roma, the Technical Area Manager, Florent Ghisolfi, was in attendance.
This initiative falls under the three-year collaboration between the yellow-red club and Trigoria Polyclinic, the Official Medical Partner of AS Roma for the football seasons 2024-2025, 2025-2026, and 2026-2027. “This is a strategic partnership that fills us with satisfaction, but also with a desire to do more,” comments Paolo Sormani. He noted further: “An agreement that confirms the path of constant growth on which we are committed – for instance, among others, in the sectors of sports medicine and diagnostic imaging – sustained also by significant investments in research, development, and technology. But I’m also thinking about those related to artificial intelligence and robotics, to make care and diagnosis consistently more effective and thorough.” Improvements from which all our patients have already begun to benefit, further confirming our very strong, indissoluble bond with the city of Rome and this territory in particular, also in a view of providing support to the most vulnerable through many social initiatives, among which those carried out in collaboration with the yellow-and-red team, where we are committed.” The Chief Administrative Officer & General Counsel of AS Roma, Lorenzo Vitali, further explained: “We are honored to entrust our footballers to a center of excellence such as the Policlinico Campus Bio-Medico. “This partnership is the natural consequence of a shared journey that we have already embarked upon during numerous health and prevention initiatives, being able to experience up close the quality and efficiency of the facilities that our players will utilize over the next three years.”
The partnership – whose medical referees are the head of Sports Traumatology and the scientific deputy director of the Policlinico Campus Bio-Medico, Umile Giuseppe Longo, the AS Roma Head Medical Doctor, Roberto Vannicelli, and the Club Consultant, Georg Ahlbäumer – includes, in addition to sports medicine, diagnostic imaging with state-of-the-art equipment and the support of artificial intelligence, as well as, when necessary, therapeutic activities aimed at the recovery of athletes. The agreement is finally sealed with the provision of emergency services at the stadium, serving spectators, footballers and staff of both the men’s and women’s first teams, including the Primavera and all youth squads.
